Impact businesses that need support to strengthen their operations and financial management have a unique opportunity in sight: Sitawi Finanças do Bem and Instituto Sabin will select three impact businesses that aim to resolve socio-environmental issues for unique and specialized training for the organizations' profile.
“The goal is to provide financial training that will help these initiatives structure their financing capabilities, increasing their potential to access resources in the market,” explains Beatriz Pires, Impact Investment Coordinator at Sitawi. Registration will be open until July 26.
Requirements
In addition to working to promote positive socio-environmental impact, businesses must intend to raise funds in the next 12 months. The training will be in-person and will take place in the city of Salvador (BA). Therefore, initiatives based in the city or nearby regions can apply — and that can travel to in-person immersions. In addition, the organization must already be operating and have at least 1 year of financial history.

Going further: more 'bricks' in building solutions to increase impact
The training offers a hands-on approach, in which deliverables and immersions will be based on information from the selected businesses. This brings personalization and assertiveness to find financing bottlenecks and potential solutions.
“Based on our analysis, we concluded that financial structuring and the identification of prior investment opportunities were rarely offered to the businesses that came to us and therefore did not advance in our Platform pipeline”, highlights Beatriz.
“The partnership with Sitawi is linked to our strategic axis, which aims to strengthen ecosystems and impact organizations in the regions where we operate,” says Gabriel Cardoso, executive manager of Instituto Sabin. For him, the maturity of a business with socio-environmental impact necessarily involves the financial dimension. “Filling gaps of this nature is one of the fundamental steps to have more and better impact businesses in Brazil,” he adds.
