There is no social justice without climate justice. It is from this premise that Equal Right, a social organization with almost ten years of experience, develops actions aimed at income redistribution and the construction of climate policies that promote a truly just transition.
With a presence in several countries in the Global South, the organization works to support communities most affected by climate change and to defend traditional peoples and territories, connecting social justice, human rights, and climate action.
Now, this mission gains new momentum in Brazil with the launch of the Equal Right Philanthropic Fund, which has financial management provided by Sitawi Finanças do Bem.
Why a Philanthropic Fund?
The fund emerges as a strategic instrument to enable and strengthen Equal Right's work in Brazil, expanding access to international resources and ensuring that these investments are directed efficiently, transparently, and in line with local realities.
The financial management provided by Sitawi brings greater legal security, governance, and operational agility to project development in the country.
According to Tomás Paes, director of Equal Rights in Brazil, the partnership represents a fundamental step towards consolidating the organization in Brazilian territory:

Equal Rights is a global non-profit organization working at the intersection of human rights, equity, and climate justice. Its work includes developing research, pilot projects, and strategies that connect social and environmental policies, promoting fairer economic systems and inclusive climate finance mechanisms.
The organization works in collaboration with governments, civil society, and global networks, contributing to concrete proposals for a just transition that address the climate crisis and economic inequalities in an integrated manner.
A Solidarity Campaign for Fair Climate Finance
Among the initiatives led by Equal Right is the Solidarity Campaign for Fair Climate Finance, conceived as a collaborative effort to assess and reimagine the climate finance landscape in Brazil.
In a context marked by climatic, geopolitical, and economic uncertainties, the collective effort proposes a solidarity-based and equitable redistribution of resources and knowledge, recognizing that addressing the climate crisis will only be effective if it is also just.
The report is a joint effort of Equal Right in partnership with the AYA Institute.
Presented during COP 30, the Mutirão initiative remains active after the conference as an open platform, connecting organizations, territories, and decision-makers throughout the next year and strengthening a South-South vision for climate finance and a just transition.
