We recently participated in UCBIO – the National Conference on Conservation Units for Biodiversity, held in Curitiba (PR), a meeting dedicated to environmental conservation in the country.
During the event, Sitawi had a booth to present its initiatives in Conservation and Climate Finance, promote the exchange of experiences with different actors in the sector, and strengthen partnerships focused on protecting biodiversity.
One of the highlights of the event was the panel discussion moderated by Senior Manager Fernando Campos, which brought together Anke Manuela Salzmann, from Grupo Boticário, and Robson Capaz, a conservation specialist. The topic was... “"Financial mechanisms for biodiversity conservation"”, The panel discussed the challenges related to mobilizing resources for nature and the importance of increasing private sector engagement in conservation strategies.
During the debate, Fernando Campos highlighted the need to strengthen companies' understanding of their dependence on ecosystem services.
“If we want to leverage resources for nature, we need to create a narrative that demonstrates to companies how much they depend on nature. From the moment a company understands this dependence, it begins to incorporate it into its risk management strategy and resource allocation decisions,” he stated.
Participation in UCBIO reinforces our commitment to developing financial mechanisms aimed at biodiversity conservation, strengthening Conservation Units, and promoting the sustainable development of communities that depend on these territories.
