Brasilwara is an initiative that works on developing applications aimed at public policies and new possibilities for technological proposals. The initiative created the first application aimed at teaching and learning indigenous languages of peoples in Brazil, the Nheengatu app, which aims to encourage new speakers and contribute to the revitalization of the Nheengatu language, which was once the most spoken language in the Amazon region.
In addition to the Nheengatu app, Fundo Brasilwara is also responsible for the development of two other apps inspired by this one. They are the Kaingang app, which has completed phase 1 (of 3), and the Nuke Tsãy app, which has completed its MVP and is currently being tested by the community.
Its mission is to support the safeguarding of languages in danger of extinction, contributing to one of the main agendas of the indigenous political group, linguistic revitalization, which is inseparable from the agendas of identity recovery and territorial protection.
Why a Philanthropic Fund?
Brasilwara sought a Philanthropic Fund with the need to have fiscal representation that would allow participation in calls for proposals with larger fundraising values and to assist in the management of accounting and legal issues.
