About the initiative

THE Re:wild is a international organization dedicated to protection of ecosystems and the strengthening of indigenous communities as agents of conservation of the planet.. In its operations in Brazil, Re:wild developed the Project Fire: an initiative aimed at supporting Brazilian states in prevention and fighting of forest fires, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples and the Ministry of the Environment.

The project includes the acquisition of equipment and PPE, the training of professionals for emergency response, and the strengthening of the management of Conservation Units and Indigenous Territories, all within a scope defined jointly with the State Secretariats for the Environment (SEMAs), ensuring adherence to the realities and priorities of each territory.

Why a Philanthropic Fund?

To make it feasible financial management of resources aimed at implementing the project in Amapá, the initiative sought to Sitawi Finanças do Bem to establish the Philanthropic Fund to Combat Fires. The partnership ensures transparency and efficiency in the management of resources executed by SEMA-AP, maximizing the impact of environmental protection actions in the state.
