At the same time, transforming this knowledge into priorities, planning, and actions requires resources, coordination, and information connected to the reality of each territory.
To expand this capacity for action, the ComuniClima Fund was created, with financial management by Sitawi Finanças do Bem. The fund offers a structure for mobilizing philanthropic resources to support climate adaptation and resilience projects that combine territorial intelligence, education, and community participation.

ComuniClima operates with participatory climate intelligence, combining technical data and the knowledge of those who live in the territories to identify risks, understand vulnerabilities, and build action priorities.
This approach recognizes residents and community leaders as participants in the production of knowledge and the development of solutions. Their experiences help to identify critical points, support networks, and needs that may go unnoticed in analyses that are distant from local daily life.
Climate education and communication are integral to this process, making information understandable and useful for prevention, planning, and participation in decision-making.
What the fund seeks to make possible
The resources mobilized may support participatory diagnoses, risk mapping, climate education processes, and the development of action plans and prevention and response protocols.
In practice, these activities help to understand where the risks are, who is most exposed, what protective capabilities already exist, and what needs to be prioritized in each context.
Providing feedback to communities is also part of ComuniClima's approach. The information produced needs to return to the territory in accessible formats, allowing people to discuss the results and participate in the next steps.
“The community knows which streets flood, the places where the heat is most intense, and the support networks that function when an emergency occurs. This knowledge needs to be part of the decision-making process. With this fund, we want to expand the conditions for building diagnoses, priorities, and adaptation actions together with the territories,” says Jaqueline Nichi, co-founder and CEO of ComuniClima.

Sitawi Finanças do Bem is responsible for the financial management of the ComuniClima Fund, providing the structure for managing philanthropic resources according to the conditions established for the fund.
This partnership allows the ComuniClima team to dedicate itself to project development, collaboration with partners, and work in the territories.
