Mergers and other Long-Term Structured Collaborations in the Social Sector

In the current Brazilian scenario, we realize that social organizations seek collaborations that bring a greater scale of social impact, better quality of programs, strengthening of fundraising capacity, administrative efficiency, greater financial strength and better risk management capacity. The deeper and more structured the collaboration, the greater the potential for results in organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and impact on the community. This study brings cases of sharing the Mission, Methodology, Programs and Infrastructure, exposing not only the reasons and gains of these collaborations, but also the challenges. The Merger Study was launched at the GIFE Congress in March 2014.
