At least 711 TP3T of Brazilian teachers are stressed due to work overload, according to a survey conducted by Ipec, commissioned by organizations such as Todos Pela Educação, Itaú Social, Instituto Península and Profissão Docente. In addition, 491 TP3T do not receive ongoing training after they begin teaching, making it difficult to adopt more efficient and innovative pedagogical practices.
Thinking about it, the Curiós Philanthropic Fund, which has the financial and administrative management of Sitawi, was created to promote concrete and lasting changes, mainly in supporting educators, a fundamental part of the transformation of the Brazilian education system. The initiative works with diagnosis, planning and implementation of solutions to improve public education in Brazil.
The Curiós Fund was structured with a focus on three main fronts:
- Continuing education: Thematic days offered to teachers and school managers, focused on improving their pedagogical practices and contributing to the continuous development of their skills.
- Flourish: Training paths and a virtual community focused on the well-being of educators in public schools, recognizing that self-care and emotional support are fundamental to the quality of education.
- Educational consultancy: Consulting projects to improve management and educational indicators in the public education network, according to the challenges of each location.
Changing mindset in education: focus on human capital
Contrary to the common idea that innovation in education depends exclusively on access to technology, the Curiós Fund promotes a new approach, focused on human capital.
“In Brazil, many municipalities still lack the infrastructure needed to implement large-scale technological solutions. Therefore, the Fund is committed to valuing educators and transforming their pedagogical practices as the path to more effective education,” explains Laura Marsiaj Ribeiro, the Fund’s program manager.
With 2.2 million educators in Brazil, traditional training continues to focus heavily on theory rather than practice. The challenge of engaging students and promoting quality education involves retraining and supporting our teachers. The Curiós Fund is a response to this urgent need.
The goal is to create a continuous support network for educators, offering both technical and emotional support so they can lead the transformation in Brazilian schools.

According to Laura, with the recent municipal elections, many cities are under the leadership of new mayors and councilors. “The Curiós Fund emerges at a crucial moment to help these managers plan educational policies for 2025”, he emphasizes.
