Other impact initiatives
Between 2013 and 2021, Sitawi's trajectory evolved through two programs: Social Finance and Sustainable Finance. With their own teams, CNPJs and different legal nature, the two entities (OSCIP and Consultoria) shared brand and infrastructure, offering complementary value propositions to partners and customers.
From the perspective of Finanças do Bem, in this period the Sitawi brand reflected the pioneering spirit of both organizations/programs in different segments, from philanthropy and impact investing to second opinions on securities with an ESG approach. With the strong growth of all these markets in recent years, both programs have also evolved. Thus, to meet the design of strategies and policies better adapted to the ambitions and audiences of each Program, at the end of 2021, the organizations announced the transition of the operational model and stopped operating under a single brand.
The Practice in Sustainable Finance gave rise to NINT (name inspired by the concept of natural intelligence). With 11 years of experience, more than 700 projects for more than 250 clients and a team of 100 people, the consultancy directs its broad expertise across the entire ESG spectrum to investors, companies and public and private financial institutions.
Social Impact Contracts
The Social Impact Contract Social Impact Bonds) is a payment mechanism for social results. Developed in 2010 in the United Kingdom, the Social Impact Contracts (CIS) enable private investment to contract social programs by public management, based on evidence of impact for the population, bringing the focus to the results. Thus, the State undertakes to pay investors, with a rate of return, only if the goals are reached, which makes the investor responsible for the financial risk of failure of the program.
In 2015, Sitawi started to specialize in the development and structuring of Social Impact Contracts (CIS). We act as a pioneer in the development of the mechanism in Brazil, supporting the design, financing and implementation phases, advising governments, investors and/or interested operators. Together with the state government of Ceará, we coordinated studies and strategic meetings to enable a CIS in the health area in 2017. At the same time, we assisted in the elaboration of PLS nº 338, which is being processed in the National Congress, with the objective of establishing a new form of partnership between power public and private sector in the form of a Social Impact Contract.
In 2019, we held the 1st Call Sitawi of Social Impact Contracts, supported by FAPERJ (Rio de Janeiro category) and the Sabin Institute (national category), with the aim of encouraging state and municipal public managers to contribute to the modernization of the management of subnational governments through innovative solutions and the improvement of public services offered to the population.
Donate More, Donate Better
With the mission of promoting the culture of donation in Brazil as an objective way to build a better country, in 2015 Sitawi created the platform Doe Mais, Doe Melhor. The initiative brought together the stories and actions of people donating resources to inspire others to do the same, creating an atmosphere of solidarity where everyone finds a way to contribute to change the Brazilian social sector.
The initiative also campaigned to choose the organization with the best online fundraising plan – through expert assessment and public voting. This was awarded with R$50 thousand in services to operationalize the campaign. During the process, materials were developed and training in online capture was offered to all participants.
Ampara Animal's Acãochego campaign was the winner and raised around R$400 thousand.
