Show in São Paulo brings together artists in support of the SouMinasGerais fund managed by Sitawi

Maria Gadú, Tulipa Ruiz and Mariana Aydar will lead a show organized by the collective #SouMinasGerais on December 21st at Espaço das Américas, in São Paulo. All proceeds from this show will be donated to the philanthropic fund SouMinasGerais, managed by Sitawi to benefit the areas of the Rio Doce basin affected by the tragedy in Mariana.

The funds from the fund will be donated to the #RiodeGente project, from Greenpeace, to enable broad, in-depth, transparent and independent research on the impacts of the tragedy in the Rio Doce Basin.

“We believe that only a #riodegente – all of us together – can make a difference in a permanent and sustainable way so that the environment and the populations affected by the Mariana tragedy recover and that situations like this do not happen again”, says Asensio Rodrigues, Director Executive of Greenpeace in Brazil.

Also at the show, the public will be welcomed by a live paint made by 10 renowned street art artists on individual canvases created during the event. The exclusive works will be sold during the show and also, later, on online channels, all with a common value of R$ 3 thousand. The full list of artists will be posted on the event's social media.

This is the second show organized by the collective SouMinasGerais. The first took place in Belo Horizonte, at Esplanada do Mineirão, on December 8, with Caetano Veloso, Jota Quest and Criolo. The presentation also had the participation of Milton Nascimento, Tulipa Ruiz and Emicida. The event was organized by Oloko Records and Criolo; Some Productions and Caetano Veloso; Helber Oliveira and Jota Quest, in addition to the Minas Gerais producer Macaco Prego Arte e Cultura.
