Sitawi supports the second cycle of the DáPé reforestation campaign

The second edition of the DáPé campaign was launched in September 2016 and will once again be financially managed by Sitawi. This year, the goal is to plant 20,000 new tree seedlings in the Atlantic Forest, partly in the Tijuca Forest – Rio de Janeiro and partly in the Paraíba do Sul Valley – Taubaté, continuing the planting of the first campaign.

The fund's collection will be carried out via crowdfunding and expects to raise R$400 thousand by the end of November. It works like this: for each contribution worth R$ 20, a treeand will be planted in Permanent Protection Areas and Conservation Units, being cared for by Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica for five years until they are strong enough to go it alone. The first edition of the Dá Pé campaign, in 2015, reached the collection target of 100% and reforested 1.33 km of riparian forests on the Una River, in the Paraíba do Sul River basin, which supplies the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais. In all, 20,000 tree seedlings were planted between December 2015 and March 2016, a favorable period for cultivation, supervised by SOS Mata Atlântica.

The Dá Pé crowdfunding is a realization of Um Pé de Quê? – created and produced by Pindorama Filmes and Canal Futura – in partnership with Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica for the restoration of eternal forests. All funds raised will be allocated to a Philanthropic Fund, managed by Sitawi Finance for Good.
