The month of October ends with news around here: the Sitawi Finances for Good is a finalist for the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Response to Covid-19, in the Health Emergency category. In addition, we are running in the Reader's Choice, a popular vote campaign that opens space for internet users to support the initiative they most admire.
Debuting in this edition, the Sanitary Emergency category encompasses initiatives that carried out actions to mitigate the effects of Covid-19 and that brought health solutions to Brazilians. In 2020, with the onset of the health crisis, the Sitawi demonstrated in practice that making an impact in the world is directly related to acting promptly. That's how, through our expertise in financial management, we supported 16 Philanthropic Funds dedicated to the cause and mobilized, until then, more than R1TP4Q173 million, impacting more than 8 million people in Brazil. More than 79 million PPE and medical-hospital equipment and 12 oxygen plants were also donated, which benefited 924 hospitals and more than 700,000 ICU patients across the country.
?We started looking for and being looked for by partners who wanted to make a difference in people's lives. It was clear that our expertise in philanthropy management and our values, such as excellence and transparency, were very important in creating each of the 16 Philanthropic Funds dedicated to fighting Covid-19. All with the objective of connecting resources, from thousands of donors, hundreds of companies and foundations, with the edge of society that needed support. In addition to the technical jury, which will choose a winner per category, the award also opens the Reader's Choice category, in which Internet users can vote for their favorite initiative. The public can also choose, at the end of the poll, if they want to donate a sum of money to the initiative.

The award, the main recognition in the field of socio-environmental entrepreneurship in Latin America, is organized by Folha de S. Paulo and the Schwab Foundation. The 2021 edition includes 12 initiatives, three in each of the four categories, which stood out in response to the pandemic.
