Sitawi makes socio-environmental loan to Coperjunho

In June, Sitawi made another loan in the southern region of Brazil. The successful loan was granted to Coperjunho, the 8 de Junho Agroindustrial Cooperative in the city of Laranjeiras do Sul, Paraná, which works with government programs, events, contracts with the Federal University of the Southern Border and a private school, in addition to selling in retail markets in the region.

Sitawi's socio-environmental loan aims to provide more working capital to cover payroll, farmers and restructure debts. The socio-environmental impact will come from two fronts: income generation for settlers and organic production of a large part of the cooperative's products.

In relation to income generation for the settlers, the impact is direct. Small rural producers are suppliers of the cooperative, focusing on two main product lines: tubers and vegetables. Currently, it generates around 30 direct jobs and has more than 40 associated farming families who benefit indirectly from the sale of organic production.
