And this will only be possible with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/financiamento-climatico-o-que-esperar-da-cop30\/\">climate finance<\/a><\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is climate finance?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the <strong>United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)<\/strong>, O <strong>climate finance<\/strong> and the <strong>financing<\/strong> local, national or transnational from public, private and alternative sources, which aims to support <strong>actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change<\/strong>, such as installing renewable energy for small farmers or restoring degraded areas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This <strong>financing<\/strong> Visa <strong>reduce greenhouse gas emissions<\/strong>, in addition to <strong>reduce vulnerability<\/strong> and <strong>improve the resilience of human and ecological systems<\/strong> in the face of adverse impacts of <strong>climate change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/info.sitawi.net\/tnfd_empresas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"550\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/template-cta-para-blogposts-1.png\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27555 lazyload\"\/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"550\" src=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/template-cta-para-blogposts-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27555\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/template-cta-para-blogposts-1.png 700w, https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/template-cta-para-blogposts-1-300x236.png 300w, https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/template-cta-para-blogposts-1-15x12.png 15w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Climate Finance Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Efforts to organize and develop the <strong>climate finance<\/strong> have been an agenda in international climate governance since the <strong>Eco-92<\/strong>, held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Also known as <strong>Earth Dome<\/strong> or officially as <strong>United Nations Conference on Environment and Development<\/strong>, this conference is a milestone in the fight against <strong>climate change<\/strong>. It was the first to bring together governments, civil society and the private sector on a large scale to establish measures aimed at tackling the increase in greenhouse gas emissions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the real milestone for climate finance was the <strong>Paris Agreement<\/strong>, established by 195 countries in the 21st <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/cop-o-que-e-a-conferencia-do-clima\/\">Conference of the Parties<\/a><\/strong> (COP21), in 2015. This agreement assumed the <strong>commitment<\/strong> to immediately reduce global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with the aim of keeping global temperature rise well below 2\u00b0C and, ideally, <strong>limit the increase to 1.5\u00b0C<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Still, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.climatepolicyinitiative.org\/publication\/global-landscape-of-climate-finance-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> of the Climate Policy Initiative, the average annual volume of <strong>climate finance<\/strong> reached about US$1.3 trillion in 2021\/2022, which corresponds to 1% of global GDP. This value is <strong>significantly below<\/strong> of approximately <strong>US$ 8.1 trillion<\/strong> estimated to be needed annually through 2030.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this sense, it is clear that, despite the efforts made, there are <strong>significant challenges<\/strong> associated with the <strong>climate finance<\/strong>. Among them are the <strong>resource mobilization<\/strong> sufficient to achieve the established climate goals, the <strong>setting priorities<\/strong> for the allocation of resources and the <strong>distribution<\/strong> of funds in a fair, effective and transparent manner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ways to unlock climate resources<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are some ways to promote the <strong>climate finance<\/strong>, including public and private approaches. The <strong>public climate finance<\/strong> is composed of resources obtained through taxes and other government revenues, destined for both international and national initiatives. The <strong>private<\/strong>, refers to the amount granted by the private sector \u2014 companies and banks, for example.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it is important to highlight that the government sector alone does not have sufficient resources to unlock this agenda. Therefore, the <strong>private sector<\/strong> plays a crucial role in encouraging actions <strong>mitigation<\/strong> and <strong>adaptation<\/strong> to the <strong>climate change<\/strong>. In addition to benefiting society, the <strong>climate finance<\/strong> provides an opportunity for investors to obtain <strong>sustainable long-term returns<\/strong> and <strong>support innovative projects<\/strong> that promote positive socio-environmental impact and are profitable. Therefore, it is essential to have a solid governance structure, with strategies, methodologies and metrics capable of assessing systemic risks, to increase private investments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, an innovative model of <strong>financing<\/strong> for projects aligned with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/agenda-2030-o-que-e\/\">UN Agenda 2030<\/a><\/strong>, known as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/como-o-blended-finance-pode-ajudar-empresas-se-alinharem-aos-ods\/\">Hybrid Finance<\/a><\/strong> or <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/o-que-e-blended-finance\/\">Blended finance<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. This instrument is about the <strong>combination of resources<\/strong> public, philanthropic or private for <strong>generate positive impact<\/strong> for investors, communities and nature alike.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no doubt about the importance of <strong>climate finance<\/strong> to achieve the <strong>decarbonization<\/strong> of the various sectors of the economy and promote <strong>greater resilience<\/strong> through the implementation of adaptation actions in the face of climate impacts that are already part of our daily lives. Therefore, it is necessary to intensify <strong>joint efforts<\/strong> to ensure a <strong>climate finance<\/strong> fair and effective.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Types of funds for climate finance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>climate finance<\/strong> is a broad topic, which can involve a <strong>large number of institutions<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Discover some Fund options for financing:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>National Fund on Climate Change (FNMC)<\/strong>: finances projects, studies and ventures to mitigate climate change and adapt to its effects. It is linked to the Ministry of the Environment (MMA) and provides resources in two modalities: reimbursable and non-reimbursable;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Amazon Fund<\/strong>: works on actions to prevent, monitor and combat deforestation, and to promote the conservation and sustainable use of the Legal Amazon. Up to 20% of the resources can be used to support the development of systems to monitor and control deforestation in other Brazilian biomes and in other tropical countries;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Green Climate Fund<\/strong>: works to finance greenhouse gas mitigation initiatives and climate change adaptation initiatives in developing countries;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/info.sitawi.net\/mapeamento_financas_de_conservacao\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"550\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/template-cta-para-blogposts-2.png\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27591 lazyload\"\/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"550\" src=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/template-cta-para-blogposts-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27591\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/template-cta-para-blogposts-2.png 700w, https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/template-cta-para-blogposts-2-300x236.png 300w, https:\/\/sitawi.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/template-cta-para-blogposts-2-15x12.png 15w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Climate finance in Brazil<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the G20 presidency this year and as the host of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/resumo-cop30\/\">COP30<\/a><\/strong>, in 2025, the <strong>Brazil <\/strong>has the opportunity to lead by example, promoting nature restoration and social development through <strong>innovative financial solutions<\/strong> that meet national needs and open doors for other developing countries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Countries with large forest areas and biodiversity, such as Brazil, have significant potential to mobilize resources for <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/o-que-sao-solucoes-baseadas-na-natureza\/\">nature-based solutions<\/a>, while contributing to the <strong>social development<\/strong> through the <strong>job creation<\/strong> and <strong>income<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Brazil, reducing deforestation is a powerful way to cut emissions, since the Amazon Rainforest alone stores the equivalent of 442 billion tons of CO22. Therefore, the mechanisms of <strong>Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD)<\/strong>, combined with conservation actions, sustainable forest management and increase in forest carbon stocks (REDD+), have gained important space in national discussion and international interest.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this context, it is crucial to highlight the importance of a fair energy transition, combating deforestation and illegal practices in the Amazon, and developing <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/como-promover-a-valorizacao-dos-produtos-da-sociobiodiversidade-amazonica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bioeconomy projects<\/a> that are socially inclusive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Climate finance in practice<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We understand that the <strong>urgency<\/strong> and the <strong>complexity<\/strong> of <strong>climate change<\/strong> require <strong>innovative financing processes<\/strong>, which make possible <strong>effective solutions<\/strong> for <strong>preserve nature<\/strong> and for <strong>face climate challenges<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Sitawi Finan\u00e7as do Bem<\/strong><\/a> develops <strong>financial solutions<\/strong> for the <strong>tackling climate change<\/strong>, with the aim of <strong>find the best financial instrument for each biome and need<\/strong>.
