Its importance grew even more after the enactment of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planalto.gov.br\/ccivil_03\/_ato2011-2014\/2013\/lei\/l12846.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Law No. 12,846\/13<\/strong><\/a> (Anti-Corruption Law) and its regulation, making the <em>compliance<\/em> an essential practice also for the <strong>Third sector<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organizations of the<strong> Third sector<\/strong> need to meet the highest standards of <strong>ethics<\/strong>, <strong>transparency<\/strong> and <strong>accountability<\/strong>. The implementation of practices of<em> <strong>compliance<\/strong><\/em> helps ensure that resources are used appropriately, minimizing risks and ensuring the trust of donors and partners.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is compliance?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Compliance<\/em><\/strong> is a set of practices and strategies that ensure that an organization is in <strong>compliance with laws<\/strong>, <strong>standards<\/strong> and <strong>regulations<\/strong> current, following <strong>high ethical standards, <\/strong>with the aim of <strong>strengthen your reputation, encourage a positive organizational culture, reduce operational and financial risks, and promote a sustainable business environment<\/strong>The term derives from the English &quot;to comply,&quot; which means &quot;to be in conformity&quot; or &quot;to comply.&quot; In other words, it involves ensuring that the organization acts in accordance with the internal and external rules that govern its operations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These rules cover several areas, such as:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Governance;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Internal controls;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prevention of money laundering;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fight against corruption;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Data protection (as per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planalto.gov.br\/ccivil_03\/_ato2015-2018\/2018\/lei\/l13709.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">General Data Protection Law \u2013 LGPD<\/a>);&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Information security;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Risk Management;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Environmental Compliance.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Importance of compliance for the Third Sector<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Considering that the organizations of the <strong>third sector<\/strong> deal with<strong> resources <\/strong>and <strong>partnerships<\/strong> public and private, the <strong>transparency<\/strong> and<strong> accountability<\/strong> are essential. Therefore, the implementation of <strong>policies of<em> compliance<\/em><\/strong> is essential to ensure good governance and the trust of donors, investors and partners.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, with the <strong>Anti-Corruption Law<\/strong> in force, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/organizacoes-da-sociedade-civil\/\">Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)<\/a><\/strong> may be held liable for unlawful acts committed, even if they are carried out alone by a team member. It should cover rules of coexistence, respect, rights and duties;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Internal control policies: <\/strong>establish rules and procedures for all areas of the organization, including relationships with partners and government agencies.
