Its main objectives include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions<\/strong>: set global targets to reduce emissions of CO\u2082, methane and other gases that contribute to global warming;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Limit global warming<\/strong>: implement strategies to keep global temperature rise below 2\u00b0C, with efforts to limit it to 1.5\u00b0C compared to pre-industrial levels;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/o-que-e-financiamento-climatico-e-qual-a-sua-importancia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Climate finance<\/strong><\/a>: ensure that developing countries have access to financial and technological resources to implement mitigation and adaptation actions;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Encourage international cooperation<\/strong>: facilitate the creation of multilateral agreements involving governments, companies and civil society;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Monitor progress on climate commitments<\/strong>: regularly assess each country\u2019s climate commitments to ensure transparency and accountability.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Importance of the Climate Conference<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE <strong>COP<\/strong> is the leading global forum for discussing and implementing <strong>climate actions<\/strong>. Each conference is divided into two main areas:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Blue<\/strong> <strong>Area: <\/strong>exclusive space for official negotiations between country delegates, accredited NGOs and other observer entities. It is also the place where the country pavilions are located and where the local organizer&#039;s events and other parallel activities are held;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Green Zone<\/strong>: open area for parallel events, workshops and exhibitions promoted by NGOs, companies and academic institutions. It is a space to engage different sectors in the climate agenda.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who participates in the COP?&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE <strong>COP<\/strong> The COP brings together a diversity of accredited participants, divided into three main categories:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Representatives of the Parties to the Convention and observers from States<\/strong> \u2013 official representatives who have decision-making power in negotiations;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Observer organizations<\/strong> \u2013 NGOs, academic institutions and entities that monitor and contribute to technical and political discussions;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Members of the press<\/strong> ? journalists accredited to cover the event and publicize its agenda.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Brazil at COP<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Brazil <\/strong>plays a strategic role in global climate negotiations due to its <strong>biodiversity<\/strong> unique and relevant in <strong>environmental conservation<\/strong>. Furthermore, the country assumes an important role as a mediator between emerging countries and developed countries, highlighting the importance of financing actions to preserve the <strong>Amazon<\/strong> and other biomes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to projects and discussions, <strong>COPs<\/strong> are important for the <strong>Brazil<\/strong> as they are the ideal environment for capturing resources and unlocking <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/o-que-e-financiamento-para-a-biodiversidade\/\">financing for the protection funds <strong>biodiversity<\/strong><\/a> of the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>COP 30<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, the city of Bel\u00e9m will host the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/resumo-cop30\/\">COP 30<\/a><\/strong>, the first conference held in the Amazon. This event represents a historic opportunity for the <strong>Brazil<\/strong> reaffirm its global leadership role in climate negotiations. The event will allow the country to showcase its efforts in areas such as renewable energy, biofuels and low-carbon agriculture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, it is common for host countries to bring visibility to agendas that they consider important. The expectation is that the conference will discuss topics such as <strong>reduction of greenhouse gas emissions<\/strong>, a <strong>adaptation to climate change<\/strong>, O <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/financiamento-climatico-o-que-esperar-da-cop30\/\">climate finance<\/a><\/strong>, to the <strong>renewable energy technologies and low carbon solutions<\/strong>, a <strong>preservation of forests and biodiversity<\/strong>, <strong>climate justice<\/strong> and the <strong>social impacts of climate change<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sitawi at COP<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Sitawi Finan\u00e7as do Bem<\/strong><\/a> is an organization that <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/um-novo-olhar-para-a-economia-conheca-os-mecanismos-financeiros-da-sitawi-para-impacto-positivo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">builds the financial infrastructure<\/a> necessary for the growth of <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/o-que-e-economia-de-impacto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">impact economy<\/a>. Since <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/sitawi-na-cop-27-impacto-socioambiental-positivo-para-o-futuro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COP 27<\/a>, in 2022, the organization will monitor the event to understand global goals and contribute to the design of solutions that drive a fairer and more sustainable economy for people and nature.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specialist in the development of <strong>financial solutions for biodiversity conservation and tackling climate challenges<\/strong>, Sitawi also stands out in conducting economic, financial and socio-environmental studies and analyses. Its goal is to transform knowledge into practical solutions and influence decision-making processes.
