As the criteria <strong>ESG<\/strong> gain strength in the market, the <strong>philanthropy<\/strong> also evolves, ceasing to be just a symbolic donation to become a powerful instrument of <strong>generation of socio-environmental, reputational and strategic value<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Invest in initiatives <strong>social and environmental impact<\/strong>, with a long-term vision and alignment with <strong>corporate sustainability<\/strong>, is a way for companies to strengthen their performance in the field of <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/o-que-e-investimento-social-privado-isp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Private Social Investment (PSI)<\/strong><\/a>, aligned with the guidelines <strong>ESG<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Is ESG philanthropy?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although they share complementary values and goals, <strong>ESG<\/strong> and <strong>philanthropy<\/strong> are distinct concepts. The term <strong>ESG<\/strong> (<em>Environmental, Social and Governance<\/em>) appeared in 2004, in a pioneering publication by the World Bank with the UN Global Compact: <em>Who Cares <\/em>Wins, based on a provocation by the then UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, to 50 CEOs of major financial institutions around the world. The focus of the <strong>ESG agenda<\/strong> is to integrate environmental, social and governance factors into the analysis of business risks and opportunities \u2014 not as charity, but as a business strategy. <strong>sustainable value generation<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Still, the <strong>strategic philanthropy can be a key ally<\/strong> in implementing and expanding the impact of practices<strong> ESG<\/strong>. It expands companies\u2019 ability to respond to crises, strengthen ties with society and act on structural and public interest issues.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How can philanthropy drive ESG?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic or the floods in Rio Grande do Sul have exposed the urgency of corporate actions with <a href=\"https:\/\/sitawi.net\/en\/o-que-e-responsabilidade-social-corporativa-rsc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>social responsibility<\/strong><\/a>. Furthermore, according to the Donations Monitor, around 34% of the donations reported in Brazil in 2023 <strong>were also made by companies<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These data not only show the responsiveness of the private sector, but also reveal a <strong>huge philanthropic potential<\/strong>. When resources are well targeted, the impact is real and transformative. More than just providing support in times of emergency, corporate philanthropy can be a strategic tool for generating ongoing and lasting social impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And consumers are paying attention. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/materiais.inpresspni.com.br\/atuacao-marcas-rio-grande-do-sul?utm_campaign=e-book_lancamento_estudo_atuacao_das_marcas_no_rs_data-makers_-_externo&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=RD+Station\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lifting<\/a> of 2024, <strong>70% of Brazilians would be willing to pay more for brands that acted positively during the floods in RS<\/strong>. Furthermore, <strong>3 in every 4 Brazilians<\/strong> They start to have negative feelings towards brands that do not take action in the face of climate disasters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this context, <strong>include philanthropy in ESG strategy<\/strong> It is a way of moving beyond mere talk and into action. It means making social initiatives no longer just one-offs and becoming part of the company&#039;s DNA, strengthening the brand, generating value for the business and truly contributing to the transformation of society.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By incorporating philanthropy in a structured way, <strong>Companies not only demonstrate their commitment to social responsibility, but also gain a competitive edge<\/strong>. They connect with an audience that values purpose, attract talent aligned with their values, and gain the trust of investors seeking positive impact combined with financial returns.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pathways to strategic philanthropy integrated with ESG<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Alignment with corporate purpose<\/strong>: Philanthropy should reflect the company&#039;s values, mission and strategic objectives. Ongoing projects connected to the <em>core business<\/em> expand the legitimacy of actions and their capacity for transformation;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strategic partnerships<\/strong>: positive socio-environmental impact can be enhanced through alliances with civil society organizations, government agencies and other companies with similar objectives. Well-structured partnerships increase reach and effectiveness;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Impact measurement<\/strong>: defining clear indicators and monitoring results transparently is essential. This allows the socio-environmental return of actions to be assessed and reinforces the company&#039;s commitment to the transformation it proposes;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Governance and transparency<\/strong>: The allocation of resources must follow ethical and transparent criteria, with clear accountability and effective communication with stakeholders. <em>stakeholders<\/em>.
