Sitawi Finanças do Bem has been approved to join the Working Group responsible for implementing the Amazonas State Bioeconomy Plan. The selection was made through Public Call No. 002/2026, promoted by the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (SEDECTI).
In total, 37 institutions, including research centers, universities, companies, investors, and civil society organizations, were selected to work collectively on implementing the state goals set for 2030.

Officially announced during COP 30, the Amazonas State Bioeconomy Plan is structured around five strategic axes to promote environmental conservation associated with socioeconomic development.
Sitawi's contribution will be in the area of finance, through collaboration in the design and operation of a financial instrument dedicated to the Amazonian bioeconomy. The organization will be represented by João Montenegro and Yan Carneiro, members of Sitawi's Impact Investment team.
Financing the bioeconomy in the Amazon requires models that account for the specific characteristics of socio-biodiversity businesses, which often operate in isolated areas, face logistical complexities, and have seasonal revenues. Therefore, it is essential to create robust financial mechanisms that provide flexibility and support to these ventures, without compromising transparent governance processes and monitoring of the impact generated.
“Our participation in the Working Group is an opportunity to bring Sitawi’s technical background in financial modeling to support the creation of state public policies,” points out João Gabriel Montenegro, a member of the Working Group. “We want to work to ensure that the design of this new financial instrument meets the real needs of community businesses and socio-biodiversity supply chains at the grassroots level, guaranteeing that resources flow efficiently and enable the preservation of standing forests,” he adds.
